hi, welcome! I’m shreeya, a meanjin/brisbane based artist, illustrator, and student, with an indian and kiwi background. i’m currently studying interaction design and information technology. i love creating art inspired by emotions and experiences that others might resonate with.

so.. what is nudged by shreeya?

nudged by shreeya is a gentle nudge to imagine more, question the ordinary, and reconnect with yourself, through art. created from a childlike lens, each piece invites you to explore, smile, and see the world (and yourself) a little differently through media like coloured pencils, and playful, gentle animals.

at its heart, it’s about appreciating the world around us, small moments, and ourselves.

my recent work

I recently vended at my first art market, the Brisbane Illustration Fair. It was lots of fun meeting artists and customers and I think a great success! 🙂

 ” The Winter Solstice is a time for reflection, personal growth, and change. My artwork, ‘Release,’ embodies cultural interactions and introspection, creating a unique environment where people let go of their negativities. This vulnerable act fosters an unspoken connection among individuals.

‘Release’ delves into understanding viewers’ personal feelings, with a focus on self-change. The swaying strings and shreds of paper create a peaceful ambiance, reminiscent of the calm reflection found in the growth of trees. By writing down and shredding their negative thoughts, participants engage in a transformative process. Walking through the curtain of shreds symbolizes a personal journey through vulnerability towards growth and renewal. “

So many people participated in the installation, writing down their negative thoughts and shredding it with a paper shredder. The strings were filled with lots of paper shreds by the end of the night! It turned into a great photo wall and so many people had fun shredding their papers.
